Privacy Policy

dohma is operated by Dohma Technologies LLC. This policy explains what dohma collects, why we collect it, and who sees it. It is written in plain language. If something is unclear, email hello@dohma.ai.

What we collect

• The photo you upload. Usually a photo of your home or the area you want to paint.
• Your answers. Area, surface, the look you want, colors you like, colors you want to avoid.
• Your email address. So we can send you the palette and so the paint shop or contractor you are working with can find your consultation.
• Basic technical data. Things like browser type and IP address, used to prevent abuse and keep the service running.

How we use it

• To generate your paint palettes and color recommendations.
• To share your consultation with the paint shop or contractor you started it with, so they can help you in person.
• To email you the link to your sample plan.
• To improve dohma, for example by learning which palettes shops actually recommend.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not send marketing email from third parties.

Who sees your information

• You. Through the link we send you.
• The paint shop or contractor you started the consultation with. They can see your photo, answers, and the palettes generated for you. When a contractor invited you, both that contractor and the paint shop filling the order can see them.
• Service providers we may use to run dohma's infrastructure (hosting, database, AI model providers, image processing, analytics, storage, monitoring, and email and SMS delivery). They are bound by contract to use data only to provide their service.
• Law enforcement, if we are legally required to disclose information.

AI model providers

dohma uses third-party AI models to analyze your photo and generate palettes, and to read the images and wording you share when you check a paint idea from a ChatGPT conversation. If you ask for a preview of a checked color, your photo is also sent to an AI model to generate that preview image. Your photo, images and answers are sent to these providers for those purposes. We use providers that contractually agree not to train their models on your data.

How long we keep it

Your sample plan link is active for 150 days. When it lapses, the paint shop or contractor you are working with can put together a fresh one. The photo you upload is kept as part of your consultation record, together with your answers and your palettes, so a later visit can pick up where this one left off. You can ask us to delete any of it at any time, as described under Your choices below.

If you are a contractor using the Order Pad, the notes you write on an order are sent to an AI provider to turn them into products, colors and quantities, and we keep a copy of what you wrote so we can check the software read you correctly. We aim to delete that copy within 90 days. Please keep your clients’ personal details out of those notes — a first name or a street is enough for us to work from, and we would rather not hold more than that. What you actually order is part of your order record and is kept like any other record of a purchase.

If you asked dohma to check a paint idea from inside a ChatGPT conversation, the two images you shared, the answer we gave back and any preview render you asked for are kept for about 150 days, so a later render or a visit to the paint counter can pick up the same check instead of starting over. After that they are deleted, and backup copies age out within a further 90 days. A paint shop does not see them unless you start a consultation with one.

More broadly, we keep information only as long as we actually need it for the service and our records. In full:

Dohma keeps customer content and related information only as long as reasonably needed to provide, troubleshoot, secure, evaluate, and improve the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain business records, unless deletion is requested and deletion is legally and technically feasible.

You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing hello@dohma.ai, and we will do so subject to legal and technical limits.

Your choices

• Ask us to delete. Email hello@dohma.ai and we will remove your photo, answers, palettes, and contact details, subject to legal and technical limits.
• Ask for a copy. Email the same address and we will send you what we have on file.

Security

We use standard practices to protect your data: encrypted connections, signed upload URLs, scoped database access. No internet service is perfectly secure, but we treat your photo and email the way we would want ours treated.

Children

dohma is intended for adults making decisions about their home. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top of this page tells you the most recent version. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email.
